I, Rakshana Sriram, was one among the fortunate few who got the chance to go to Germany and I'm happy that I made it through without any obstacles. First of all I would like to thank Mrs. Swarna and my school, Sacred Heart Church Park, for this oppurtunity. Right from our travel, partners, host family, host school, sight-seeing, food, fun activities, leisure, and climate; all of them were truely memorable. I must admit I missed my family and some of my favourite food stuffs, but i didnt get too desperate. I certainly did not develop a longing or craving for them.

My partner Laura Almanza, and I had many things in common. Her house was magnificent! (thanks to her architect parents..) Her parents, school teachers , all were very pleasent and sweet. Even though culturally different, they were all focussed on one thing and that was to love their guests and keep them thoroughly entertained. The tearful farewell they gave us when we departed was enough proof for that...

Before I left to Germany, I was quite nervous and I had mixed feelings.. I was not too sure whether I would live up to my own expectations! But believe me, the amount of fun i had out there was much more than what i had expected!! This trip transformed me as an individual and it changed my attitude towards people and life..When I returned, my parents felt that i had become more independant and that I behaved in a more mature manner.. I once again thank my school and Mrs. Swarna, for giving me this wonderful oppurtunity..I also thank God and my parents for making this trip a reality to me..
